The Template Bysen:Heafodgesceaft is for an article on a chemical element. It adds a standard text sentence giving the element's name, symbol and atomic number. (It does not add the full stop at the end, so it can be used in the middle of a sentence.)

It has three fields which may be completed:

  • The element's name (or you may leave it blank if that is the same as the article title);
  • Either:
    • its symbol or
    • its atomic number

(not both);

  • the derivation of the element's symbol (optional).

Examples:

Tin:

  • Heafodgesceaft|Tin|Sn|Lǣden stannum or
  • Heafodgesceaft|Tin|50|Lǣden stannum

- each produces:

Tin is hēafodgesceaft, hwæs tācen is Sn (sē is fram Lǣden stannum) and hwæs motige rīm is 50
