Bysenmōtung:English

Great idea for a template. Another idea to extend this is to include a category tag, e.g. [[Category:English text]] to the template source so that every English article belongs to a named category and can be easily found by would-be translators.

What's a good name for such a category? --Saforrest 18:02, 22 Oct 2004 (UTC)

About the move to Englisc: I chose English because I meant Modern English, whereas with Englisc I would mean Old English or Anglosaxon. Because the name reffers to the modern language, I chose the modern word. Every article is (partially) Englisc (archaic), but some contain English (modern) Harðor 19:48, 22 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I agree with Harðor in preferring Template:English to the present Template:Englisc If we must have an Old English name, then it should refer to Níwe Englisc, not Englisc. --Saforrest 21:22, 24 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I've moved this page back to Template:English. To use it, just put {{english}} in an article, and it will be marked as having Modern English text, and will appear in the category Category:Gewrit mid Níwengliscum trahte. When all the modern English has been removed, just remove the {{english}} tag.

Let's make an effort to translate anything appearing in Category:Gewrit mid Níwengliscum trahte. Use talk pages for any questionable translations or newly-coined words, or post them on Wikipedia:Hú secge ic. --Saforrest 23:20, 11 ÆGé 2005 (UTC)

Return to "English" page.
