:I'm working on ensuring that every historic county has a distinctive record in Wikidata, with map (and flag if any). That should be done within a week or so, over odd lunchtimes and evenings. There are 92 of them in the United Kingdom. For towns and villages, it would need a a "historic county" statement or similar to be authorised by the admins I expect. Then and filling it in for thousands upon thousands of towns and villages is another task entirely! If an option is there to fill the county ('scir') in that can do the job.
